Friends & family of Jesse, Sam, & baby Crew-
Sam and Jesse have recently received some news about their baby boy that leaves them with a great deal of questions, uncertainty, and difficult decisions that no new parents would ever want to have to face.
After a recent routine check-up on baby Crew, they learned that he is at high risk for Spina Bifida, which, depending on severity, comes with a whole host of health issues and disabilities. They were then referred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for an entire day's worth of further testing.
To make quite a long story short, they now face a pretty extensive mama & baby "fetal surgery" in hopes to prevent further damage to baby Crew's spine. This surgery brings a lot of hope for Crew's future to, by the grace of God, live as normal a life as possible. However, as you can imagine, this surgery also comes with a great deal of risks, troubles, and a long road to recovery ahead as well.
On top of the extensive medical bills, Sam will have to completely relocate and stay at a hotel for the remainder of her pregnancy so she can be within close proximity to CHOP at all times. She will also be on complete bed rest until Crew is born.
This is really only half of the story, as this fetal surgery is a major leap of faith in hoping and praying that everything goes as planned and Crew (and his amazing parents) have the best possible outcome. Sam and Jesse have maintained an extremely positive attitude through this (one of which I admire) and neither one of them would ever dream of asking for help. However, I know both of them would give the shirt off their backs to help their friends and family (strangers at that) and I truly believe every prayer, share, and dollar counts. Please consider doing 1 or all 3 for this amazing, strong, and well-deserving family. Thank you!
