Newlyweds Logan and Chelsea Graham found out nearly six months ago that they were pregnant for identical twin girls, in a high-risk pregnancy. Their journey has been long and hard, and very rewarding, as well as spiritually fulfilling. God has brought them through good times and has shown up in the very darkest of times. Recently, after various scary obstacles, it was decided Chelsea must undergo a twin to twin transfusion surgery scheduled for April 2, 2019. They were made aware that this surgery could result in the loss of the babies, but without the surgery the babies had no chance. One day later, on April 3rd, Chelsea was rushed into an emergency second surgery due to internal bleeding; complications arose and she lost too much blood, nearly losing her life. On April 5th, Logan, Chelsea & big sister Hollyn were told that Haislee had gained her wings, and for the first time, Haddi was in her mother’s womb, alone. Our entire community is lifting them up in prayers and well wishes, pleading with God to carry Chelsea and Haddi through to the end of this pregnancy. As of now, Chelsea is in ICU trying to recover, but it seems there may have been a fluid rupture, a complication from surgery. Haddi is defying all odds with no swelling around her brain, heart or stomach. You could imagine that the road ahead will be long, as Chelsea will most likely be staying in the hospital until delivery. A long road of physical pain, destabilized finances, and grieving is ahead, but they are leaning on God to get them through. Logan and Chelsea are strong in their faith and the strength they show every single day is the ultimate testimony of their love of God and family. As such a tight knit community, our first response is prayer, and our second response is action - as it has been proven time and time again. I hope that together we can help alleviate some financial burden by springing into action immediately. This family deserves every blessing, every prayer, and a few bucks if you can spare them. Let’s lift up our neighbors and show them that they aren’t fighting alone.
Side story: The Sunday before Chelsea’s first surgery, Logan preached for the first time for service at Purpose Church. Little did Logan know the impact his message would have on his own life, just a day later. “I feel as though God Allowed me to preach this particular sermon on faith,” he recalls. “It’s like God was preparing us, knowing what was coming the next day.”
