As you probably have read in Facebook posts, our friends Liz and Jo are dealing with a family crisis. Their father, Dennis, recently had brain surgery to remove a reoccurring tumor. Unfortunately, during his recovery he contracted bacterial meningitis due to the spinal drain in his back. Currently he is in ICU at Columbia Presbyterian University Hospital in New York City. He has been intubated and sedated to conserve all his energy to fight this battle. Right now there is no prognosis, just a day by day wait for signs of recovery. 

 

Obviously, this is not only a battle for Mr.Farrell, but an agonizing struggle for his family. They have been by his side night and day since last Sunday and will be through his stay. Unfortunately, due to overcrowding in the Hospital hotel, they have had to reserve rooms at the only local hotel at an exorbitant price per night. Not to mention the medical bills that are piling up. Mr. Farrell has insurance and most of his medical expenses will be taken care of to an extent. However, Mrs. Farrell is retired and Mr. Farrell is the sole bread-winner, so she's rightfully concerned for the weeks to come. 

 

That's where we come in as friends and family. Liz and Jo have been and would be there for anyone of us in dire straits, so I have created this page to hopefully assist them the best way we can. Not only would you be helping out good friends, but a man that is without a doubt one of the most stand-up men I know. He is a selfless, compassionate, hilarious and incredible family man. Please donate whatever you can to ease this awesome family's financial burden during this difficult time.
