I’m not going to sugar coat anything. At this point, Jared’s Family, Steph, Israel and Jude, all need our help. They need the support and understanding of the community and they need the resources of the community.

Jared died, working out, after work...trying to better himself and enrich his life. He was an incredibly kind, generous and humble human being who's ability to stay present and involved with you was always accompanied by a beautiful smile. Jared was a passionate, involved father; self-inspired to be something that no one ever showed him how to do. He was so generous and kind, and he loved Steph impossibly.

This is why his death is so difficult to understand. It defies everything we think we can believe about a person being rewarded for being a good person and leading a good life.

If you feel, like we do, that you are trying to make meaning out of this, unexplainable and meaningless loss… I can offer you only one suggestion:

Make it mean something. Don’t disguise your grief, don’t hide your fear, don’t neglect the frustration of trying to find meaning in it.

Turn your sentiment into action and donate whatever you can to actually make Jared's death mean something.

Jared worked his ass off to make a life for his family. Now that he's gone, there are two very large work boots to fill.

If you've been saving up your one act of random kindness all year, I'm telling you, THIS is it.

As a loving father, I can tell you, there is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING that you could do, or offer or say that would be as meaningful to Jared as helping to make sure that his kids, and his wife, are looked after and taken care of. Not forced to navigate this horrible loss while uprooting their whole lives. At this point, they can't possibly know that it will ever get better. PLEASE, let's show them it will.
