Whether you know Daniel as a fellow musician, as a student in his physics and engineering classes , or as an award-winning mentor in the First Robotics program, you will already know that he was a brilliant man whose life was cut far too short. As a teacher, Daniel empowered his students to be leaders navigating their own successes and setbacks with the support of peers, coaches, and mentors. He has been described as a disruptor in the best sense of the word. He was deeply committed to fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration while asking hard questions and challenging himself and others to reexamine our assumptions and understanding.

Losing Daniel has hit us all very hard, especially his wife, Kate, his daughter Izzy and his son, Dylan. We, Daniel’s friends, have set up this GoFundMe account to help the family with Daniel’s medical and final expenses and to make sure that his children’s financial future is secure. Any amount you can chip in, big or small, is hugely appreciated. Daniel was a man of great vision and unbounded energy. We hope that he is able to rest knowing that his family is well cared for.
