We are asking you to please take the time to read Jose’s story and considering donating to his family during this painful time.
Our coworker, Jose Echeverria and his wife Adriana, have been faced with nothing but hardship these past months. After Adriana became pregnant with 2 boys, at 23 weeks the twins were almost lost. Adriana spent 17 days in the hospital after an emergency circlage to try and save them. One of the boys, Elijah, was born with a rare neurological and brain condition in which he is missing half of his cerebellum. He will probably live with this condition for the rest of his life. Oliver, the other twin, was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a heart defect, causing him to have to have surgery in the upcoming months to repair his heart valve and a vascular sling. On the way to the children’s hospital in Los Angeles to visit Elijah, Jose and his family got into a car accident, devastating an already extremely tragic situation for him and his family. Fortunately, he and his family are okay, however, the damage to the car makes it more difficult for Jose and Adriana to go from Santa Clarita, where he and his family lives, to Los Angeles to visit Elijah in the hospital.
4 days after Elijah was diagnosed with his condition, Jose learned of his father’s diagnosis with prostate cancer. By now, you can only imagine the types of hardships that Jose and his family has had to face in the most recent months. Additionally, as Jose has not worked at his current job long enough for him to receive FMLA benefits, he is currently on unpaid leave, putting him in a comprising situation between physically caring for his family and financially providing for his family.
Please help our dear friend Jose and his family during this extremely difficult time for them. Any financial contribution helps and will make a significant difference in Jose & Adriana’s lives.
