Support for the Babin Family After Sudden Loss

On May 22, 2025, our world changed forever when my father, Gary Babin, passed away suddenly from a heart attack. Gary was the heart of our family—his humor, kindness, and ability to make anyone feel welcome left a mark on everyone he met. He never met a stranger, and his friends spanned the globe, especially in Nigeria, where he found true brotherhood. Gary’s laughter and support made even the hardest days lighter, and he always put his family first, making sure we never went without. His loss has left a hole in our lives that words can’t describe, and we are struggling to find our footing without him.
My mother, Sandra Altman-Babin, is now facing this loss while also battling a rare eye cancer. For nearly a year, she has been traveling back and forth to Ochsner’s in New Orleans for immunotherapy treatments. The emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming. On top of this, we are caring for my young niece, Jazlyn, who has severe autism and ADHD. My parents have had full custody of her since birth, and I have been helping as much as I can, especially since my sister is unable to care for her due to her own struggles with addiction. Our family is doing everything possible to support each other, but the costs of funeral expenses, medical bills, utilities, food, and daily needs are more than we can manage alone.
We are reaching out for help to cover these urgent expenses and give us a chance to get back on our feet. Gary was loved by so many, and we know he touched countless lives.
