Support for the Algieri Family

The Algieri family is a beautiful family of five in Holden. Jen and Sal are parents to three adorable little girls named Milena, Eva, and Livia. Milena is a second grader at Mayo School and her younger sister Eva will begin kindergarten next fall. The Algieris are the kind of family that makes our Mayo community great. Jen and Sal are wonderful parents and it shows. Milena comes to Mayo each morning with a huge smile and full of stories of home--stories about a Harry Potter movie they watched, a trip to North Conway, or hanging out in the backyard together making smores. At a time when their young family is filled with so much joy, they are facing the difficult reality of life with cancer.

Jen was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when Milena was in kindergarten. A cancer diagnosis impacts the whole family. With small children at home, it is especially challenging when it's Mommy. Jen has endured many treatments and long hospital stays over the past few years. She travels weekly to Boston for treatments. For Jen, this is far too much time away from her girls. Sal has been a tireless support for Jen and his girls, keeping their world turning and always putting them first.

We are hoping to wrap our arms around the Algieri family during this time and offer them some support. Our generosity can help lighten the everyday burdens that become so much heavier when living with cancer. Let's send them into summer with a little extra sunshine!
