Support for Terry after Second Hand Rose Fire

As you may have heard in the news, our community’s beloved landmark, Secondhand Rose antique shop, suffered a devastating fire on February 23rd. While Lacey Fire District 3 fought the flames and monitored for hot spots for over 24 hours, the old main building (previously the Spurgeon Creek Grange) and shop are a total loss. Many treasured, irreplaceable antiques were still inside and either destroyed or damaged, but the building is condemned and now must be torn down. Thankfully, no one was hurt, including the beloved shop cat, Lily.

The owner for 40 years and a sculptural artist, Terry, is a friend to many, near and far. When he closed his business last year, he also unfortunately stopped his insurance coverage. He is now facing out of pocket costs for demolition, removal, and cleaning of salvaged items in addition to the loss in value of countless destroyed antiques.

My son and I have been regular patrons for the past 20 years and hope the community will join us in supporting Terry and his wife by donating what you are able toward their loss and to help cover the demolition expenses. All donations are set to go directly to Terry.

Thank you!

PS. Terry still has treasures for sale at his booth at Olympia Antique Mall, 2921 Pacific Ave SE. He also plans on having a post-fire sale at a later date and location (TBD)
