Help Terra Ceia Couple after Devastating Hurricane Flood

First and foremost, my parents are safe, but they have lost everything

Hurricane Helene had just passed Tampa Bay when my parents called in a panic; their house in Terra Ceia was taking on surge water. They were frantically trying to put everything on top of tables and beds to save what they could. They couldn’t even leave at that point, if they wanted, since their truck was flooded in the driveway.

Trapped in their one story house, they stayed all night wading in ocean water, watching everything they own get destroyed.

Thankfully they made it to my house safely the next morning after the waters receded. Living 20 years in their home and they’ve never flooded. Neighbors living there over 50 years said it’s never flooded. With no flood insurance anything will help as they are not only repairing the home but starting from scratch to replace everything.

The damage is just unimaginable for everyone impacted and I know many are in similar situations. My mom is a retired RN dedicating her life to helping others and both my parents are way too humble to ever ask for assistance but I figured anything would help to support them in their long journey ahead. Praying for everyone.
