Support for Suresh Uppuluri & Family

Suresh Uppuluri was a beloved husband, father, and friend who often had no second thoughts about helping others. He fought a courageous battle against Sarcoma (stage IV) terminal cancer for 6 years, leaving his wife, Sunitha, and two daughters, aged 12 and 7, to grieve his loss.

Suresh was an active badminton player in Surrey and surrounding counties. It was during a match that he first experienced severe discomfort in his left ankle. Initially thought to be an internal blood clot, the pain and discomfort persisted, drastically impacting his personal and professional life. Further scans revealed the devastating news that it was not a blood clot, but Sarcoma (stage IV) terminal cancer that had spread across his left leg.

He was admitted to UCL Cancer Institute, London for intensive treatment and chemotherapy. His journey was a painful one, made bearable only by the unwavering support and care of his wife, Sunitha.

Suresh was barely responding to treatment and doctors had terrible news. The tumour was growing and spread to his knee. He was given two options: amputate his left leg or continue treatment with a limited chance of success. He decided to amputate his leg so that he could be with his family.

Despite the amputation, Suresh continued to play badminton to lead a normal life, refusing to let cancer defeat him. However, his health deteriorated significantly in the last few months as cancer spread to his lungs and neck. He passed away on Monday, January 16th, 2023, leaving behind a devastated family.

His loss cannot be filled, and it might take a while for Sunitha to come to terms with her new life. We should now support his family as if it were our own.

In light of this tragic loss, we are running this campaign to gather financial support for Sunitha and her family. The funds will be used to

◦ the future education of his daughters

◦ to partially pay off the mortgage.
