We've had a flood of people asking how they could help in the wake of the tragic loss of Makenna and Maddie's father Jesse. As many of you know, Jesse and the girls have been living with my Mom and her husband Steve since last summer. It's been incredible having the girls home and getting to know Jesse as he worked to get himself on his feet. If you know my Mom and Steve, you know how generous they are. They help any time someone needs it. They've allowed my family and my siblings at different times to live with them while we figured our own stuff out. They're always ready to support their friends and family however they can. One thing they hadn't planned on though, was being the primary caregivers to these two little girls at this point in their lives. Along with that unexpected turn of events are the unexpected costs that come along with it, like summer daycare, health insurance, and the many other expenses that come with raising kids. I can think of no other people that are more generous and deserving of the support. They have been so appreciative of all of you reaching out, sending meals, flowers, etc. They would never ask for this themselves, so I'm going to do it for them.
