hi, my name is steph. I’m just trying to help my mom.

my mom has had a very hard life. she is the strongest woman i know. but this year has been one of the hardest years of her life to date.

i’ve always known my mom’s career to be taking care of others, whether it be her family, her friends, or just somebody that needs help. this year things changed quite a bit for her, and a job that produced actual u.s currency was needed for survival.

things were going okay! she started working hard to make money at her retail job while she started looking for something better. her dream was to get into caretaking.

but in september, she took a bad fall that caused a horrible knee injury. because of this, she had to be off work for quite some time… during that time, she noticed a pain in her breast.

on november 5th, she was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. she had to quit her job to focus on treatment.

what else can go wrong?

insurance took ages to approve her pet scan and she had to cancel her appointment until it was approved…

and then on november 30th, her car died. her source of getting to not just her pet scan, but the chemo that will follow.

i help the best i can. but i live an hour away and work full time. my dad, although separated from my mom has also been a great support system for her and takes her where she needs to go when he can, but he also works full time and is unable to take time off work to drive her.

i set up this go fund me in attempt to help my mom get a reliable vehicle so she is able to have a reliable way to get to her appointments and once she beats this, hopefully be able to get back to the career she dreams of.
