Dearest Brothers and Sisters,
With an awesome hope for healing and an inspiring will to endure, our beloved Sister Sonia has given her all to fighting the ravages of pancreatic cancer.
Alhamdulillah on the blessed day of Jummah, Friday, February 24th, at the time of Asr she returned to her Lord. At the moment of her last breath she was reciting Quran, SubhanAllah.
Sister Sonia is survived by her loving husband of over 20 years and 8 beautiful children, 5 of whom are between the tender ages of 16 and 9. She was the pillar of their family, and her heart belonged to them. She was an amazing caring mother who gave her all to her children, they will truly be at a loss without her. Her relationship with her husband was one of strength, love, and devotion. Their love is a beautiful reminder and example to so many.
Sonia was loved by all who knew her and met her. Even in her last days she was unknowingly teaching us how to come together as a community for the sake of Allah. Her secrets with Him were many, and those close to her witnessed them, many believe she was a friend of Allah. Her passing was one of dignity and Iman.
In this difficult time we are asking our ummah to be generous with this family. They need your support now more then ever.
"Whoever brought his brother out of discomfort, Allah will bring him out of discomfort on The Day of Resurrection."
