Support for Single Black Parents in Oakland

Donation protected
The Cause:
Growing up in a family of single parents, I know first hand what silent & loud challenges single Black parents face. I also know how much of difference communal support makes. Life is challenging in itself and to be a Black Woman or Man in a world that’s founded on anti-Black racism adds difficulties to life’s inevitable challenges. On top of that, to then care and tend to the demands of raising a child(s) alone becomes not only a responsibility, but also an act of nobility.

For this reason, we are coming together to let 15 Black single parents know they are not alone during this unprecedented time by raising $2,000 for each family. In doing so, we hope to relieve just some of the tremendous pressures they are facing from immediate needs.

We are grateful for any and every donation, from $0.25 to $30,000. Anything and everything will help us reach our goal. And more importantly, every cent represents the collective village that’s here to support our single mothers and fathers.

*This effort is being sponsored by Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS). All donations are tax deductible.*
