ln Memory of Linda Siglin

I’m Lisa Canin, an Arkie from the 1970s and a long-time friend of Linda and David Siglin.

Linda and David Siglin spent more than forty years of their fifty-nine year marriage nurturing and growing The Ark, the internationally acclaimed music venue in Ann Arbor, Michigan. For many of us, The Ark has been not only a place to hear great music, but an intimate space of safety, generativity and magic.

David and Linda were its essence…Dave’s dry wit and encyclopedic memory paired with Linda’s infectious laugh, total irreverence and welcoming, open heart made The Ark a home away from home.

On March 16th, Linda died unexpectedly. It’s hard to describe the shock and depth of this loss for her family and for the community who loved her.

A group of friends have established this fund to help David remain in their family home and manage expenses that, due to the loss of Linda’s income and access to her insurance, are now more challenging. Bills are already piling up (expected, and unexpected, medical and otherwise).

We want David to be able to focus on grieving his loss, not on financial concerns, and to know that the community he and Linda supported for so long is now supporting him.
