Our hearts are shattered as we mourn the unimaginable loss of our beloved Shakeela Martin, who was taken from us far too soon at just 35 years old.

Shakeela was a devoted mother to five beautiful children who were the center of her world. She was full of love, strength, and hope for the future. In a heartbreaking twist of fate, she was preparing to move her family into their new home the very next day. Wanting to celebrate this exciting new chapter, she took her children to get slushies at a BP gas station.

What should have been a joyful family moment became an unimaginable tragedy. Shakeela was struck during a shooting at the gas pumps, and her children witnessed the devastating loss of their mother.

As our family tries to process this heartbreaking tragedy, we are also facing the unexpected financial burden of laying Shakeela to rest. Unfortunately, she did not have life insurance, and we are asking for the kindness and support of our community to help cover her funeral and burial expenses. Any additional funds will go toward helping ease the immediate needs of her five children during this incredibly difficult time.
