Support for Sergio R. Nieves' Family

Sergio R. Nieves, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, January 26th, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication that will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

Sergio is survived by his wife, Kelly Jones, and their two daughters, Peyton Nieves, 17, and Reese Nieves, 12. He was the cherished son of Ada O. Velez Rivera, the late Manuel Nieves Benliza and loving brother to Olga N. Nieves.

A man of service and honor, Sergio proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for 14 years. He was also a dedicated Mason, joining the Roe Fulkerson Lodge No. 299, on November 12, 1998. His commitment to the values of brotherhood, charity, and integrity was evident in every aspect of his life.

Sergio was a lifelong learner and a man of great intellectual curiosity. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Inter American University on May 27, 1992, and later graduated with his Master’s Degree from the University of Miami on June 25, 2004. His dedication to education and personal growth was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Sergio was a man of kindness, wisdom, and strength. He was deeply loved by his family and respected by his friends and community. His unwavering love and devotion to his family will be remembered and celebrated by all whose lives he touched.

Rest in peace, Sergio. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved you. You are deeply missed and will always be cherished and remembered as a man of honor, service, and integrity.
