With heavy hearts, we are honoring the life and legacy of Ruben Garcia, who passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2025, following complications from a procedure.

Ruben was a beloved husband, father, mentor, and friend. Ruben was a leader in the healthcare facilities management community and a trusted presence at CommonSpirit Health, where he served as Market Director of Facilities Management for Greater South Houston. Known widely as “The Life Safety Guy,” Ruben dedicated his career to patient safety, education, and elevating others—not for recognition, but out of genuine service.

More than his impressive credentials and professional accomplishments, Ruben will be remembered for his kindness, humility, and unwavering belief that people come first. He was a passionate advocate for mental health in our profession and consistently reminded us that behind every role and title is a human being deserving of care and compassion.

Ruben is survived by his wife, Lisa, and their children, Nathan, Joshua, Bella, and Ruben II. This fund has been created to support them during this incredibly difficult time.
