My son Patrick and his wife Amanda just welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Tess McKenzie Riley, on Valentine’s Day, 2/14/26. Their son Charlie, age 10, was so proud to welcome his little sister into the world. The family spent a few days together at the hospital, and by Monday, they were able to return home, surrounded by the support of loved ones.

Less than 12 hours after coming home, the unimaginable happened. Amanda suffered a seizure and stopped breathing. Paramedics arrived quickly and performed CPR before transferring her to L&M Hospital, but despite their efforts, Amanda passed away. We were told she had a heart attack that caused the seizure. Our entire family is in disbelief and shock, struggling to process this sudden and heartbreaking loss.

Many friends and family have reached out, asking how they can help. I am starting this GoFundMe to help cover Amanda’s funeral expenses and provide immediate living expenses for Patrick, Charlie, and newborn Tess as they begin to navigate life without Amanda.
