Support for Renai and Family

Hi my name is Stacey and I am doing this fundraiser to ask for you to help me support my friend Renai and family whom have unfortunately been homeless for the last 8 months, constantly moving between hotels just to keep a roof over their children's heads and unfortunately just after Easter their 7 week old baby boy Addison passed away from SIDS and tragically 2 weeks later their 8 year old boy Elliott passed away in his sleep.

Renai and family have been doing whatever possible for the last 8 months to keep themselves and their children in whatever accommodation they could possibly find. They have even paid up to $1000 a week for a hotel. With all the stresses of homelessness Renai was unaware that she had fallen pregnant and didn't find out until she was around 30 weeks. But she did as she always did and got as much organised to welcome baby Addison to the world and the family were blessed when he was born in February 2023. He was such a beautiful baby boy with the most gorgeous blue eyes. He brought so much joy to the family's world and to his siblings Elliott, Oliver, Alistair and Eleanor. Everyone who got to meet baby Addison were so much in awe of this gorgeous little boy. He was a healthy little boy who loved his boobie and snuggling in to welcoming arms.
Addison's last moments were just like any normal night he woke through the night and early morning for his normal feed and went back to sleep in his bassinet but unfortunately after the sun rise when Renai woke to feed him, poor Addison would not wake. As you can imagine, any mothers worst nightmare. She called 000 and the paramedics rushed Addison to hospital but unfortunately baby Addison had gone and joined the Angels.
As you can imagine everyone is and was so devastated but a mother's job is never done. Renai pushed on for her family as best she could and unfortunately they had to move on to yet another hotel. Fortunately that meant they were in a well located place so that finally Elliott and Oliver were able to return back to school. Elliott and Oliver were so excited to be back at school and seeing their school friends and teachers just as many teachers and friends were happy to see them.

As many people were aware, Elliott had type 1 diabetes which is quite hard to manage but Renai was doing her best to take every precaution possible. Elliott was diagnosed with diabetes at age 5 and Renai always had Elliotts pack stocked with all that was needed, she made sure his foods and drinks were best suited to his diagnosis and the school were amazing with supporting everything that Elliott needed. Elliott was such a beautiful boy and like most 8 year olds, he loved transformers. He would be so excited to get a new transformer and he also took joy in taking them apart and putting them back together. He loved school, going to the park and his most favourite of all would be the beach and the ocean. Elliott and family would often take walks on the jetty and watch over the rail to see the fish. Just last week while his siblings played at the park with my children he was having a conversation with me talking about the waves, the water and the jetty and all that he could see.
But unfortunately on Anzac day, just 2 weeks after Addison gained his wings, Elliott passed away in his sleep.
Elliott was feeling a bit unwell on Monday so he did not attend school but by Monday afternoon he was back to his normal self. Renai had checked his sugar levels multiple times throughout the day and night and everything was within normal range. He went to bed as usual and Renai checked his sugars around midnight before going to bed and it was still in normal range.
Unfortunately when Renai woke on Tuesday morning she checked on her children as they were still asleep and unfortunately Elliott did not wake. Once again she called 000 and the crew came again and took her beautiful boy Elliott.

Renai, family and friends are still grieving but still trying to carry on with all that is needed for their children but are in quite a difficult place.
This is why we are asking if anyone is able to make a small donation to help cover funeral costs and to help ease the stress and support Renai and children at this time. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and if you are unable to donate please share.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this and I hope you have a blessed day
