Support for Refugees in Greece
Donation protected
When the civil war broke out in Syria, refugees were pouring into Jordan and one camp reported they had enough tents, but not enough able bodied people to assemble tents and prepare for the refugees. This broke my heart and made me question if my energy would be better spent assembling tents in Jordan. Years later I had yet to lend a hand, so when the opportunity came to volunteer in Greece with Dråpen i Havet (A Drop in the Ocean), I knew it was time to go.
I will be volunteering at Souda Camp in Chios for ten days, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner to 1,200 refugees, working with the children, and wherever I am needed most.
It is getting cold in the evenings, and windy. Many tents blew into the ocean last week. The children do not have a dedicated play area or school on site, their activities are held on the side of a road.

I am specifically looking to raise money to buy winter clothes as well as childrens books, toys and activities which I will purchase once there.
All donations received by December 1st I will be able to allocate while on site, and will send photos of your direct support. All further donations will be given to A Drop In The Ocean to use where the need is greatest. 100% of funds will go to refugees, none to pay for my travel.
I have been lucky in my life, but recognize how vulnerable we all are. I want to show my thanks by giving others what hope and support I can. I hope you will join me in this outreach.
On behalf of myself and so many others, thank you for your donation, no matter the size. Every drop in the ocean counts.
