Support for Quiroz Parents Post-Fire Recovery
Donation protected
As many of you know, on 6/17/2024 tragedy struck Ruidoso, NM when 3 uncontrolled fires led to the evacuation of the entire town, leaving everyone in question of whether or not they’d come back to their homes, businesses, family, friends, or pets. The fires burned over 25,508 total acres impacting more than 1,400 structures. Never in history has there been an incidence like this in Ruidoso.
My name is Lizbeth Quiroz, born and raised in Ruidoso speaking on behalf of my siblings for our parents, Javier and Olga Quiroz. Luckily, my parent's home is still “standing” but is still damaged along with other structures on their property. Because of the damage and the fact that this is considered a crime scene, they’re still not able to return home. As far as their restaurant (El Paraiso Restaurant), they’ve lost everything in terms of food and are currently working hard in preparing the kitchen for when the delivery truck arrives next week.
Our parents are the most selfless people we know. They have no idea that we are asking for help on their behalf because they’re the kind of people to always try to figure it out one way or another but they can’t do this alone. Our hearts go out to the village of Ruidoso and those who are at a loss. We continue to lift everyone up in prayer and hope that everyone can find peace again. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you in advance for any support you’ve provided for our family, our parents. Thank you!
