Support for Paul's spinal cord injury recovery

Hi everyone,
I am raising funds for my father-in-law, Paul, to support his recovery from a severe spinal cord injury.
As some of you know, Paul suffered a bad accident on Saturday August 8th, falling from a ladder and breaking his T4 vertebrate and causing severe damage to his spinal cord. He was taken to The Alfred where he underwent surgery to repair the break, and was also placed on a ventilator.
While we wait to find out a clearer picture of the full extent of his injury, his doctors have explained to us that they believe his spinal cord injury is 'complete', meaning that he will not regain feelings or movement below his level of injury.
While we remain hopeful that with the right rehab and support, things may change and he may improve beyond this initial prognosis, the reality is that, regardless, he has sustained a very serious injury that will severely limit his mobility and will require significant changes to all areas of his usual life.
For those who know Paul, you'll be well aware that he is the first person to show up and lend and hand when needed. He is an exceptionally kind and caring person who goes above and beyond for the people he cares about. He is a dedicated member of the Bayles CFA and a true 'community man'. While he is generally a very independent and private person, the road ahead of us will require support from many avenues, which is why we are starting this GoFundMe. There are many uncertainties ahead of us, one being costs, both in loss of income for both Paul and Ange while they focus on Paul's recovery, and in the expenses of home modifications and assistive equipment that will come with this journey. Any funds raised will be put aside and given directly to Paul and Ange at the conclusion of this fundraiser, for them to use in whatever way they feel is most beneficial to Paul.
Any help is appreciated, we are so grateful that Paul is still with us and we are committed to helping him continue to live a fulfilling and enjoyable life.
