As many already know, my family has been severely affected due to the current administration’s immigration policies. Here is an update on our situation.

My husband was picked up in Texas by ICE and detained in April of 2025, then held in a detention center for 20 days before we raised funds to bond him out. My husband was the sole bread winner for our family, as I am a stay-at-home mom taking care of our two-year-old son and expecting a daughter in March 2026

When he came home, we contacted a lawyer and paid them a lot of money, but unfortunately made no progress because of their dishonesty. We then paid another lawyer and waited for progress in getting my husband a residency (“green card”). During this whole process my husband has been unable to work, making it nearly impossible to keep up with expenses.

At my husband’s December court date authorities had him under “removal proceedings”: trying to deport him back to Mexico. My husband is not a criminal. He came on a work visa and let it expire to stay here and support our family. We know that this was not the best decision but there is no way to turn back now.

We have decided as a family to have my husband voluntarily deport, meaning his record will be clean and he will have a chance to reapply to become a U.S. resident.

We are asking for your support to help our family continue to stay afloat until our children and I join him in Mexico.
