Twice in the last nine months, my family and I have been forced to leave our home because of two separate water issues. Each time, the damage was so severe that it required weeks of remediation, demolition, and rebuilding. The first time, we were displaced for six weeks. Now, we are seven and a half weeks into our second displacement, and we still don’t know when we’ll be able to return home. This ongoing situation has been a huge burden, not just mentally but financially as well.

While we do have insurance, it only covers so much—especially when it comes to being displaced. Paying my regular bills, plus all the extra expenses that come with living away from home, has been a huge strain. The uncertainty and stress of not knowing when we’ll be able to return, combined with the mounting costs, have made this an incredibly difficult time for us.

The funds raised will help us cover bills, pay for additional temporary housing costs, and offset extra expenses. It will also help us replace anything that isn’t covered by insurance. I normally don’t ask for help, but this situation has pushed us to the point where we could really use some support. It’s very hard to ask, but your generosity will go a long way in helping us stay afloat and not sink further, as we anticipate being displaced for another four to six weeks at a minimum.
