My name is Danielle Austin. On Friday, May 16th, 2025, my Uncle, Norbert Thompson, fell victim to what can only be described as a tragedy of nature. There was a devastating tornado that directly hit his home in North St. Louis. By the grace of God, he and his pup Oreo were unharmed. The same cannot be said about his home. The home that stood for over 100 years was reduced to a pile of rubble in a matter of seconds. This house has been home to 5 generations of our family. There was so much history and love in those walls; it is a heartbreaking loss for not only him but for our family. He has lost more than just his home, more than a staple of our family; he's lost everything.
That being said, my Uncle has an unimaginable, uphill battle ahead of him as he navigates a new living arrangement and building a new life for himself and Oreo. My Uncle is retired on a fixed income and does not have homeowners insurance. He is in need of funds to begin rebuilding after this unexpected tragedy. He is one of the most hardworking, kind, generous, and loving people I know. I am asking you, please, let's come together to give support to my Uncle Bert and Oreo. Anything helps, whatever you can spare. My family and I thank you in advance. Together, we will help my Uncle rebuild his life.
