Our son, Noah, tragically passed away on Monday, July 6. He was only 22 years old. 

 His life was cut short in a heartbreaking tragedy when he was struck by a truck. Our family is devastated by this unimaginable loss, and we are trying to cope with the overwhelming grief that comes with losing a family member. 

Noah spent nearly his entire life in our family home in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Our house holds so many memories of him.  We remember him growing up, celebrating birthdays and holidays, playing, preaching from a pretend pulpit, and so much more. The home where my son spent most of his life has become a constant reminder of the tremendous loss we are carrying. 

As much as we cherish those memories, remaining in our home has become emotionally overwhelming.  We are reminded that Noah is no longer with us. The grief follows us from room to room, and it has become increasingly difficult to find peace while living in the place where he spent so much of his life.  For the sake of our emotional well-being and the healing of our family, among other reasons, we feel that we need to make a fresh start in a new place.  Our hope is to sell our home as soon as possible and move away.  Unfortunately, before we can put the house on the market, there are a number of major repairs and improvements that really need to be completed.  The challenge we are facing is that we simply do not have the financial resources to pay for all of this and to relocate.  

At the same time, I find myself emotionally exhausted.  The loss of my son has taken an enormous toll on me, and the grief has made it incredibly difficult to find the strength, energy, or motivation to tackle the work that needs to be done. Tasks that once seemed somewhat manageable now feel completely overwhelming.  We are doing our best to move forward one day at a time, but this has been the most difficult season of our lives.  We are asking for understanding, compassion, and any assistance that might help us prepare our home for sale so our family can begin the difficult process of starting over.  

Being able to sell our home and relocate would not erase all our grief, but it would give us the opportunity to begin healing in a place where we are not surrounded by painful reminders of our son and the tragedy we have experienced.
