Last week, our world was shattered when my sister-in-law passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. She and my brother, Nick, had only been married for a little over a year. They were just beginning their life together, dreaming about their future, making plans, and building a home filled with love. None of those plans included facing life without the other.

In the midst of this heartbreak, we’ve been met with the reality of emergency hospital bills and the unexpected costs of a funeral. These are burdens no one can truly prepare for, especially while grieving the loss of someone so dear.

If you knew her, you know the warmth, kindness, and joy she brought into every room. She loved Nick, her family, and her people with her whole heart, and she was loved so deeply in return. Watching those closest to Brooke navigate this pain is indescribably hard.
