Nevaeh’s journey into motherhood began in a way no one could have expected. On June 13th, 2025 she delivered her son Colten at just 23 weeks via emergency c-section due to preterm labor. He weighed only 1 lb 3 oz. Colten is now in the NICU, showing incredible strength, but he faces a long road ahead as he continues to grow and overcome the challenges of being born so early.

Nevaeh has been by Colten’s side every step of the way, staying in a hospitality house near the hospital so she can be close to him. She’s doing everything she can to support her baby, but this situation has brought significant financial strain. Because Nevaeh has not been at her current job for a full year, she does not qualify for any type of paid leave, including short-term disability or maternity leave. With Nevaeh unable to work for at least eight weeks, and more time off needed once Colten is released, she’s facing loss of income, travel expenses, and the ongoing costs of maintaining her apartment and utilities. The beginning of July brings urgent bills, and the stress of these financial burdens is the last thing Nevaeh needs as she focuses on Colten’s care.
