We are writing this on behalf of our dear friend, Ninfa Amador-Hernandez, and their family during an incredibly challenging and unexpected time.

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, Ninfa’s stepfather, Mynor Dubon, was kidnapped by ICE in Blaine, Minnesota. He is a father, husband, brother, friend, and small-business owner. Mynor is now being held in an ICE detention Center in Texas, miles away from where he resides with his family in Virginia.

Mynor was in Minnesota for work. Moments after arriving at the construction parking site, ready to lead his team through another day of work, unmarked cars appeared, ICE agents surrounded him, and he was taken without warning or cause. This sudden separation has been devastating. The family, like countless others subjected to the cruelty of the current administration and barbaric immigration policies, is enduring constant fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak as they navigate this difficult situation.

As the primary breadwinner for his household, his absence has also created immediate financial hardship. The family has hired an attorney and is working urgently to bring him home, but legal fees and everyday expenses are quickly adding up.

As an advocate for immigrant rights, Ninfa has consistently shown up for her community and fought to protect immigrants across Maryland for years. It is now our turn to show up for her and her family. Funds raised will help cover legal costs, household bills, and basic needs, providing critical stability during a moment that has shaken their lives.
