I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my big sister — someone who has been both a sister and a second mom to me since the day I was born. She has always been the one taking care of everyone else, and now it’s my turn to help take care of her. On the morning of February 12th, my sister’s home was destroyed in a house fire. The damage has left the house uninhabitable, and because she is a renter, the resources available to her are limited and slow to access. The most heartbreaking part is that she lost all of her family pets in the fire. While my sister, my niece, and my nephew are thankfully safe, they are now left facing uncertainty, grief, and the overwhelming task of starting all over. My financial ability to help on my own is limited, but I can use what skills I do have to try and support her family through this incredibly difficult time. This GoFundMe is to help them take the first steps toward rebuilding and to cover basic essentials — clothes, toiletries, blankets, and the everyday necessities that were all lost in the fire. Anything you are able to give will make a difference and will help bring my sister and her kids a little bit of stability during an unimaginably hard moment.
