This is an extremely hard post for me to make. It has been a very difficult time for my family (what’s left of us) and me. My sister was diagnosed with stage IV cancer about a month ago. She has been extremely sick for a few months and has been unable to work for a while now.

Starting a few months ago, she had been back and forth with several doctor's visits and no answers. She was only told she had a sinus infection. Then her more recent visits were all the same diagnosis - pneumonia. At the end of June, she eventually had gotten so sick that I had to drive her to the emergency room. They admitted her into the hospital and that’s where she eventually received her diagnosis.

After a few weeks, she was sent home and has now been awaiting chemo treatment. She is still extremely weak and oxygen dependent. She has depleted what little savings she had and is no longer receiving any money from her employer. We have helped her apply for any assistance available, but they all have extremely long waiting periods. She has hospital bills on top of past due bills and is pending an eviction. She has no means to even get the basic necessities.

We have been helping all that we can but are in desperate need of help to get her out of this hole. The goal is way under what she actually needs, but this will at least help her stay afloat with our assistance until some of her benefits finally kick in - which can unfortunately take several months.
