On Friday, January 9th, my sister’s world changed forever. Her partner, Jaramie, passed away suddenly, leaving her to care for their 3-month-old baby and her 10-year-old son. This unimaginable loss has left her heartbroken and facing a future she never expected.

Jaramie was the main provider for their family, and my sister has been on unpaid maternity leave, doing her best to care for her children. It was supposed to be their first week back to work after welcoming their newborn son, but now she is once again off work, this time to grieve and support her children through this tragedy. The bills are piling up, and the day-to-day needs of her kids continue, even as she tries to find her footing in the midst of loss.

I never imagined I would be writing something like this. Right now, my sister is facing a difficult situation, and as her sister, I want to do everything I can to support her. She is strong, loving, and someone who has always shown up for others without hesitation. Unfortunately, life has thrown her challenges that are more than she can handle alone. The emotional and financial weight of this time has been overwhelming, and that’s why I’m reaching out. Any support, whether it’s a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or simply keeping her in your thoughts, means more than I can put into words. Every contribution will go directly toward helping her get through this moment and easing some of the burden she’s carrying.
