A few days ago, my father (62) was robbed at gunpoint in Colombia shortly after withdrawing several years’ worth of his pension contribution payments — a total of 23 million Colombian pesos. He had taken time off from work to handle important administrative matters back home, and the funds were meant to support ongoing obligations and future plans he’s worked hard for.

The robbery was caught on video and shared online, where it has already been viewed over a million times. While the footage confirms what happened, it has also added another layer of stress for my father, who never expected such a personal and frightening moment to become so public.

Thankfully, he wasn’t physically harmed, but the financial loss is devastating. Losing years of accumulated pension contributions in a matter of seconds has put him in a difficult position, and recovering from this setback alone will take a long time.

I’m creating this fundraiser to help him regain his stability. Any support will go directly toward:

Replacing the stolen pension funds

Covering the administrative costs he still needs to handle

Helping him move forward after this traumatic event
