My dad is the rock of our household, and seeing him so ill has been incredibly hard for all of us. He has stage 5 kidney failure and several other health issues that have taken a massive toll on his body. On December 27th, he was admitted to the hospital for a severe arterial blockage in his left leg, which led to a necrotic toe from the loss of circulation. The doctors placed a stent and removed the toe, but unfortunately, he hasn't shown good signs in recovery for either his mind or his body. Just two days after being released, he was readmitted to the hospital on January 6th, and things are not looking good for our family without him at home.

My dad has always been the one to keep us steady, both emotionally and financially. Now, with him unable to work, we are struggling to keep up with our household expenses. My income and my mother's SSI are simply not enough to cover everything that needs to be done while he is down for the count. We are facing the possibility of falling behind on our mortgage, electric bill, water bill, car payment, and other essential expenses. The stress of worrying about losing our home and not being able to provide for our family is overwhelming not just for us, but for him too. I feel like the concern and worry about the financial strain this has caused is something that is hindering his recovery to a degree on top of the stress of being in the hospital.
