Our Great Mills High School community is coming together to support Varsity Baseball player Carter Moore and his mother, Ms. Norris, who is also a teacher at GMHS. Their family tragically lost their home and belongings in a house fire during the early morning hours of May 9, 2026.

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, at approximately 2:58 a.m., firefighters responded to a working house fire in Ridge, Md. Crews arrived on the scene to find a two-story residence with heavy fire showing. All seven occupants were able to escape along with their two dogs and two cats, but these individuals have lost everything, including their vehicles.

The funds raised will be used for immediate needs, which may include temporary housing and helping the family replace essential belongings. The community is also seeking donations of clothing to help the family get back on their feet. As they face the challenge of rebuilding their lives, your support will make a real difference.

Any donation, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated and will go directly to the family as they work through this devastating loss. Please consider supporting them and keeping them in your thoughts during this difficult time.
