Help My Mom Recover After Her Birthday Accident

On September 20th — my mom’s 76th birthday — she had a terrible fall while going into work at Walmart. She ended up being taken to the hospital by ambulance with a broken nose, a busted lip, a rib contusion, a black eye, and broken dentures. She missed about a week and a half of work recovering, and while she’s now back, she is on light duty, working only 3–4 hour shifts instead of her usual 8-hour days.

My mom has always been one of the hardest-working people I know. She’s been raising my brother and me on her own since our dad was killed when I was just three years old and my brother was only eight months. She’s never remarried and has always put everyone else first — her kids and now her three grandkids and one great-granddaughter mean the world to her.

At 76, she’s still working to keep her head above water, but this accident has set her back. I’m hoping to raise enough to help cover the cost of repairing her dentures and to make up for the wages she’s lost while she’s on shorter shifts.
