As some people may already know, my mom has had her fair share of health problems over the last 12 years. Well, on May 16th, I took my mom to a doctor's appointment for a check-up and her blood pressure was super low. So, her doctor had me take her to the ER to get evaluated. They did a bunch of tests to try and figure out what was going on. They found her blood count was extremely low. They gave her fluids and 3 bags of blood and ran more tests.
The doctor did an upper and lower scope on Saturday and ended up finding a tumor. So, the doctor is talking about surgery to remove the tumor but first, he wants her to build her strength up and get as much protein as she can before he does surgery so she has a better chance with recovery. Today, May 24th, she is getting transferred to a rehabilitation center for a little over a week to build her strength back up and then when she's back home, we will start this new challenge life has thrown our way.
My mom is one of the strongest people I know and she has gotten through everything this life has dealt her. I'm not one who likes to ask for help especially for money but we could use a little help while we go through this. My parents live on a fixed income and my dad has been dealing with some health issues of his own since October and I haven't been able to work much for a little while now trying to be there for my mom more and working a full time job was just getting to be too difficult but I'm in the process of becoming my mom's paid caregiver. I'm just not sure how long before that gets all worked out. So, any little bit would be greatly appreciated and will help get us through the next month or two that will help me keep up with bills and gas to visit her and get her to and from appointments, prescriptions, and whatever else my mom might end up needing.
