Please Support Mike Shaw’s Family in Their Time of Need

Last week on April 5, my sister’s husband, Mike Shaw, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack at the young age of 52. He leaves behind his 3 children: Abbie 10, Jack 7 and Eli 17 (from a previous marriage).

Mike and Shelby were soulmates. The kind of love story people write about. They dated for five years when they were teenagers and came back together 10 years later and started their life and family together.

Mike was the best father and husband anyone could ask for: kind, caring, patient, loving, super funny and above all, present. He was an EXTREMELY proud family man and everyone who knew and loved him are grief stricken by his loss. Mike was very active in his children’s lives, attending every sporting event, birthday party, dance recital and school function. His loss has left a gaping hole in his family.

This past week has been so emotionally devastating for Shelby and the children. Mike was the key to this family. Shelby has lost the love of her life and the children now have to grow up without their father. Subsequently, they are also left unable to cover their finances.

In addition to honoring Mike with a loving memorial service, the family has many other expenses they are unable to meet without Mike’s financial support, until Shelby can figure out a new path for her family. We are reaching out to our friends, family and community to help ease the financial burden for Shelby and her children at this time.
