Support for Michael, young dad fighting Cancer

Hi, my name is Kristen Crane and I am fundraising for my nephew and godchild Michael Leake, who is 32 years old. In late March of this year, Michael was involved in a car accident near their home. Ten days after the accident, Michael started experiencing pain and swelling for what he thought to be a seatbelt injury from the accident. He went to the ER, had multiple scans done and he was informed that he most likely had Lymphoma. That was on a Saturday in early April and on Monday, they were in the office of the Oncologist. It was then that they were informed that he had Stage 2, almost 3, Non-Hogkins Lymphoma . The doctor began an aggressive treatment plan and scheduled chemo ASAP. When Michael arrived to his first chemo treatment, he was rushed to the ER for a blood clot/DVT and possible PE. He was then hospitalized for four days for treatment of Superior Vena Cava Syndrome. He received his first chemo treatment while he was hospitalized.

Michael has continued treatment and unfortunately, has had other complications along the way. He has suffered from another blood clot, issues with his lungs that have required oxygen and biopsy. The complications have caused a lot of issues and have required two procedures to be performed, which ultimately led to a stent placed in an internal vein in his chest. This vein had been damaged to the point of being mostly inoperable due to the lymphoma attacking his body. He has completed 6 rounds of chemo and will now have 3 weeks of radiation. Michael and his wife Sheridan have an active 2 year old named George and they just bought a new house. Michael has been weak and very tired after his chemo treatments, but has continued to be brave and work the best he can. I ask for financial help for Michael and his family so they can focus on Michael’s treatment and recovery for this aggressive disease.
