Michael Romain, the long-time reporter, editor, columnist and DEI director for Growing Community Media who in his capacity excellently served the communities of Oak Park, Austin, Maywood, Forest Park & beyond, is no longer with GMC.

Michael has played such an important role in raising awareness, challenging the community, creating cohesion, encouraging political participation & overall keeping the citizenry informed on the critical happenings of our community & government.

Mike's exit from GMC is troubling & raises serious questions regarding the environment & direction of GMC.

While Mike takes the appropriate steps regarding his exit & the community awaits to learn more from GMC, I believe it is important for the commUNITY to be there for an individual that has always been there for us.
