On the 1st of August, an electric accident claimed the life of father Mesfin and his 6-year-old daughter Meraf in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The electric malfunction started a fire in Meraf's room while she was sleeping. With little time to orient themselves, parents, Mesfin and his 8-month pregnant wife were able to escape the burning house with their two youngest children. Upon realizing that Meraf was still stuck in her room, Mesfin ran back into the burning house to save his daughter.
Meraf died 3 days after the accident from the burns she sustained. Mesfin died as a result of smoke inhalation 10 days after.
This gofundme is in order to help the newly widowed mother of 2, Meserat who is preparing to give birth. Currently, Meserat and her 2 children are homeless living with friends, without any belongings. The fundraiser goal of 10,000aud (26,853 riyals) will support Meserat to provide food and clothing for her children while she grieves the loss of her husband and eldest daughter.
