So right off the bat, you may be looking at this and realize this isn’t your standard topic of a GoFund me. Please hear me out. This is a story of needing a hand up, not a hand out.
My sister and her husband have been through it financially for many, many years. Just when it seems they are getting ahead, life seems to always knock them with a heavy swing.
Mike has spent all of his efforts over the last several years reinventing themselves. After a personal investment w a business left them totally invested and the owner left them high and dry, it forced my sister and Mike into bankruptcy with literally not a dollar to their name. For the next 3 years still they don’t have available credit so everything they pay for must be within cash flow. That’s made for hard Christmases and birthdays, not to mention the car repairs they are both in major need of. While government programs have been helping some, ends never meet.
My sister has spent the last 2 years acting as medical caretaker for both of our parents. Through my moms heart surgery gone bad, rehabilitation & cognitive issues to my dads sudden onset of CIPD requiring dozens of drs appts, all the while raising and homeschooling their boys.
Fast forward to a very exciting time in all their lives, their daughter & the boys’ big sister is getting married in March, out of state. There will be travel expenses involved for sure. The wedding falls on Jace’s 13th bday so separating their family isn’t ideal & would be heartbreaking for them all.
To add to recent pressures, Mike is having unexpected surgery today adding yet again to expense and pulling him from work for a couple weeks to recover.
I wanted to put this GoFundMe together in the hopes that our friends & families over the next 6 mos could possibly help give them a leg up.
