Support for MCPS Student Detained by ICE & Family in Crisis

MoCoIRC is collecting funds to support an MCPS student who was detained by ICE in May 2025. As of writing this, the student remains detained and their family's financial circumstances have worsened.

Due to fear of exposing themselves to being abducted by ICE, they live in fear and limit leaving their home. The student currently has pro bono legal representation, but due to their inability and their family's fear to work at this time, they need all the help they can get. All funds will go directly to the student and their immediate family members to cover immediate housing and food needs. The student has hopes of pursuing a degree in Nursing when released and additional funds will support their higher education goals.

The school case worker will ensure the student and their family receive these funds.
