Support for Matthew Smith

Hi my name is Alexa Salvatori! My family and I are raising awareness and support for my uncle Matthew Smith, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2018. ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The motor neurons affected are in charge of providing voluntary movements and muscle control. Matt and his wife Marie have two beautiful young children. Over the past 4 years the family has been devastated by the affects of this disease, but Matt is a fighter and he does it with a smile. He loves his family fiercely and our desire is to help carry their burdens in any way we can. One way we can do this is by raising money to fund a handicapped accessible bathroom in their home.
