Help Matthew & AJ Thrive During a Crisis
Our family is facing an urgent and deeply challenging time as we fight to provide stability for our two wonderful children, Matthew (11) and AJ (14). Both are incredibly gifted young artists who light up our world with their creativity—but they also have significant disabilities that require ongoing support.
Matthew lives with Intellectual Disability, receptive language disorder, ADHD, and Amblyopia. AJ is Level 2 Autistic, has a rare chromosomal duplication, anxiety, and a mood disorder. Despite these challenges, painting together is one of our greatest joys. We’ve even tried selling some of their artwork—but it hasn’t been enough to meet basic needs.
Recently, our financial situation changed drastically.
Dad lost his second job after the company shifted to local-only hires.
Mom’s nonprofit position lost its funding.
A legal mishap triggered massive paycheck withholdings—up to 40%—leaving us with just $3,600/month take-home income.
But our rent and insurance alone cost $3,500. That leaves just $100 for everything else.
We are hard-working people who’ve done everything we can—budgeted, downsized, sold paintings, and even worked on recovering from a medically caused bankruptcy (from years of out-of-pocket therapy before Katie Beckett and Marketplace plans helped). But this current situation is more than we can bear alone.

What We’re Asking For
We are humbly asking for help to:
Keep our children housed and insured
Purchase urgently needed items like specialized new glasses, socks, and shoes
Maintain therapies not covered by other programs (speech, OT, vision, equine therapy)
Buy homeschooling essentials, including educational materials
We know times are hard for many. But even a gift of $25 can help us breathe. We plan to put these funds into our children's ABLE accounts, so you can be assured your generosity will go entirely toward their care.
Thank you for seeing us. For helping us protect the safety, health, and stability our children deserve. We’re so grateful.
With love and hope,
The Robbins Family
(Matthew, AJ, Mom & Dad)
