Support for Matt Cragg (aka Needles) and His Family

Many of you know and love Matt Cragg better known as Needles. He’s not just a loyal mate to many; he’s a devoted husband to Shannon, a proud father to Ella, and a dog dad to Freddy. Matt is the kind of person who’s always first to lend a hand, whether it's at the footy club or for a friend in need.

Sadly, Matt’s world and ours was turned upside down when he was recently diagnosed with stage 4 bowel and liver cancer.

His first surgery is scheduled for Thursday, May 29th to remove the tumor and the right side of his bowel. He will then have a recovery period of 4-6 weeks post surgery. Within a few weeks after surgery they will meet with oncologist and specialists to find out what next steps are for treatment. Matt will likely begin chemotherapy to shrink the cancer in his liver if this is unsuccessful a liver transplant may be his next step.

Understandably, this diagnosis comes with a huge emotional and financial toll. That’s why I’ve set up this GoFundMe to support my sister Shannon, my brother in-law Matt, and their family through this incredibly tough time. With an uncertain road ahead, we’re unsure how long Matt will be unable to work, and every bit of help counts.

Matt is a lifetime member of the Heatherton Football Netball Club, where he currently serves as Senior Assistant Coach. He’s also been an Under 19s Assistant Coach at Noble Park Football Club. He’s always been there for his community now it’s our turn to be there for him.
