Hi, my name is Donielle (aka "D"), along with Kilee Martin, we have been best friends with Marissa for over 15 years.

Marissa and Levi have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl, due on December 23rd. She was to be Marissa's first baby and a brand new baby sister to Bryson!

Later in her pregnancy, Marissa began experiencing complications. On November 20th, she was diagnosed with polyhydramnios, which meant she had to be on bed rest. Then, at her appointment on November 25th, at her appointment was diagnosed with preeclampsia. The doctors told her that if she didn’t deliver by December 2nd, they would schedule an induction.

On Thanksgiving morning, I woke up to a message from Rissa letting me know her water had broken and she was at the Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie preparing to give birth. She was progressing naturally, but was having some very painful back contractions.

This morning, I was notified that Marissa and Levi welcomed baby Makenna into the world, but there were complications. Makenna was born with the cord wrapped around her, and the medical team had to act quickly to stabilize her heartbeat and insert a breathing tube. She was sent to the NICU for closer observation and then transferred to St. Francis Franciscan Hospital in Greenwood. After arriving at St. Francis, medical staff called and updated Rissa and Levi that they had to give medication for seizure-like activity during the helicopter ride over.

Right now, Marissa is trying to rest and hopes to be discharged soon so she can be with baby Makenna. Kilee, Tab (Marissa’s sister), and I have decided to set up this GoFundMe on behalf of Marissa and Levi. We want to bring their loved ones together to support them during this difficult time.

Above all, we ask that everyone send prayers and good vibes for them.

For anyone who is willing and able- I'm sure Marissa and Levi would appreciate monetary donations for the following needs:

• Loss of wages due to bed rest and earlier deliver than anticipated
• Travel costs as it will be over an hour drive to get to St. Francis
• Meals
• Medical bills
• Lodging (if there isn't any provided by the hospital)
