Support for Lorrie After Papa Howie's Passing

Donation protected
Dennis Howerton, commonly known as Papa Howie to many of us or Gramps, was loved by so many. His contributions, time and support given to the Northgate Community (specifically the dance department, the spirit program and chaperoning leadership events) did not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated. Papa Howie loved all his Broncos, and did everything possible to help his daughter Kourtnie and her programs at school… bringing pizza to 300 students at Boomers for sr picnic, driving car full of students on field trips, cheering and recording all our halftimes at Friday night lights and spending all his summer transforming his garage into a construction zone making sure the dance and cheer boxes were constructed perfectly; primed, sanded, hinges hidden so you couldn’t see them from the audience, painted, decals symmetrical, handles, magnets, and took so much pride seeing them on the sidelines every Friday. Dennis had a challenging health journey being diagnosed with heart disease and recovering from a quadruple heart bypass at the young age of 52. Learning throughout the years all these future ailments and diseases stemmed from his time fighting for our country in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. He had the upmost pride and respect for our American Flag, fellow veterans and his time in the Navy. If you had the time he would tell stories upon stories of history, food, places he’d travel to and of course how to fix anything with duct tape! These last two years were extremely difficult for Dennis and the family, going back and forth to SF Veterans Hospital, Tracy AirForce Base hospital for various tests and scans, battling lung cancer, aggressive infections around the lungs, in and out of the hospital for pneumonia, COPD, and dehydration. Dennis and his wife Lorrie have two children; son Kyle (Jen) and their children, Grace, Charlotte and Ames and daughter Kourtnie (Steve) and his daughter and granddaughter Reyna and Bianca. Lorrie or more well know to many of us as Mama Howie is a beloved “Grammy” to many families in our community and continues to babysit and love all our babies. To show our love and gratitude to Papa Howie and assist Lorrie with upcoming expenses we kindly ask you to donate if you feel lead, to ease the pressure for the Howerton family. Thank you for your generosity and our Papa Howie will always be in our hearts.
